Pakistan, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, England and South Africa participated in the ICC KnockOut (Champions Trophy)2000 held at Kenya. All matches are held at Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi. In the preliminary round Kenya, Bangladesh and West Indies participated. The fixture of the tournament is here.
October 3: first preliminary quarter final – Kenya v India
October 4: second preliminary quarter final – Sri Lanka v West Indies
October 5: third preliminary quarter final – Bangladesh v England
October 7: first quarter final – Australia v India
October 8: second quarter final – Pakistan v Sri Lanka
October 9: third quarter final – New Zealand v Zimbabwe
October 10: fourth quarter final – England v South Africa
October 11: first semi-final – New Zealand v Pakistan
October 13: second semi-final – India v South Africa
October 15: final – India v New Zealand
The first preliminary quarter final was between India and Kenya. India won the toss and to field first. Kenyan innings was ended 208 with loss of 9 wickets. India made 8 wickets victory with help of Dravid’s unbeaten 68 and Tendulkar’s 66. Anil Kumble was man of the match.

The second preliminary quarter final was Sri Lanka against West Indies. West Indies won the toss and field first. Sri Lanka scored 287 runs with Gunawardene’s 132. west Indies lost the match by 108 runs. D Gunawardene was man of the match.

Bangladesh played against England in the third preliminary quarter final. The toss-winner Bangladesh chose to bat first. They scored 232 runs. Opener javed Omar was not out with 63 runs faced 84 balls. England made an easy win with help of Hussain and Stewart. A Stewart was player of the match.

India, Sri Lanka and England qualify for the main tournament.
The first quarter final was Australia against India. Australia won the toss and field first. The Lee brothers collapsed Indian batting order. Yuvraj Singh helped Indian score to create a competitive level. He was the man of the match. Australian middle order failed.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the second quarter final by 9 wickets. Sri Lanka won the toss and bat first. They scored 194 runs. W Akaram and A Mahmood give a good bowling order. Saeer Anwar’s unbeaten 105 help Pakistan make an easy win. He was the player of the match.

In the third quarter final, New Zealand won by 64 runs. The toss was won by Zimbabwe and chose to field. New Zealand scored 265. Zimbabwe’s part-time batsmen failed to face the difficult situation. R Twose of New Zealand was the player of the match.

The fourth quarter final was England against South Africa. England won the toss and bat first. But they fail to make competitive score. South Africa entered the target with 2 wickets loss in 39.1 overs. J Kallis was player of the match.

India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa qualified for semi-final.
The first semi-final was New Zealand against Pakistan. In the match, Pakistan won the toss and bat first. They scored 252. New Zealand won the match in 49 overs. S O’Connor was the player of the match.

Second semi-final was indi against South Africa. India won the toss and bat first. They scored 295 runs with Saurav Ganguly’s opening unbeaten 141 runs. South Africa was all out in 41 overs. S Ganguly was the player of the match.

The final was New Zealand against india. New Zealand won the toss and field first. India scored 267 runs. Skipper Ganguly lead the innings with 117 runs. New Zealand won the match by 4 wickets with 2 balls remaining. C Cairns was player of the match.
